This figurine (1/24th) was an absolute delight to assemble and paint.

The castings are crisply moulded, with very fine detail and very little cleanup was needed.

I washed the pieces in isopropyl alcohol first and, when dry, washed again with warm soapy water.

Priming was done with acrylic automotive lacquer, in grey, and a couple of days later the pieces were checked to make sure there was no flashing which I had missed. All was good.

Vallejo "Air" acrylic paints were used for all finish coats and were brushed on using sable brushes from 000 to 0 sizes.

I chose to do the figure in a dark maroon colour with a touch of Vallejo "Air" aluminum to give a slight metallic effect.

The main part of the figure is the body, legs and left arm....that is all moulded in one. This was painted first in a light wash of colour and then the right arm, left hand/gauntlet and head were also done.

Whilst that was drying and hardening I painted the separate ammunition back-pack, his Uzi sub-machine gun, radio, pouches and the piece-de-resistance, that magnificent chain gun and ammunition belt.

When the figure was finally completed and totally dry I rubbed over the edges of the armour, particularly his boots. This gives a worn effect, with the grey primer being exposed in these areas.

Photos of the completed figure are shown here:-
